Lee Meriwether As Catwoman
Julie Newmar was unable to play in the 1966 Batman feature film due to other commitments. The role was recast with Lee Meriwether as Catwoman. Even though I'm a huge fan of Julie Newmar's take on Catwoman, I also really liked Lee Meriwether in the part as well. I know her portrayal gets mixed reaction from fans. I thought she did quite well as Catwoman and Miss Kitka (she was supposedly a Soviet journalist, but it was really Catwoman out of her costume). The character really seemed to be in lust and love with Bruce Wayne in the film. The feeling definitely was mutual.

She is great but Julie Newmar nails the role for me (and Michelle Pfeiffer)
I had set of Viewmaster 3D viewer slides of a Batman Catwoman (played by JN) - I think I've still got them somewhere in the original packaging..

Hey Dave. Thanks for the comments. Julie will always be my favorite classic Catwoman. I did like Lee though. I loved Michelle Pfeiffer's take on the character. Wow! That's really cool about the viewer slides. I always loved those things. Cheers!
I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually liked Lee better than Julie as Catwoman. It's not that I didn't like Julie, but for some reason I prefer Lee. Don't shoot me. lol

When I was a kid I watched Batman a lot on Nick at Night. I also remember it was smooshed between My Three Sons and The Monkees. Those were the days.
Hey Deana. Thanks for the comments. I love all those shows. When I was growing up, I would see Batman, the Jackie Gleason Show, Sgt. Bilko, Hogan's Heroes, etc. on tv when I got home from school.
she looks like a great catwoman. her eyebrows are totally distracting but so interesting - and perfect for a CATwoman
