Soledad Miranda: A Life & Career Cut Way Too Short

Soledad Miranda was the star of numerous cult films by Jess Franco in Spain. Her credits include such films as Count Dracula, Eugenie de Sade, Vampyros Lesbos, She Killed in Ecstasy, and The Devil Came From Akasava. She's one of my favorite actresses from the films of Jess Franco. I definitely will cover some of her films in the future. She was beautiful, but she had something beyond that. There was this seductive quality about her that could bewitch someone. Unfortunately her life and career were cut way too short. Soledad was killed in a car accident on August 18, 1970. We can only imagine what she would have accomplished if she had not died so young. I thought this Halloween season was the perfect time to honor Soledad. I light a candle and raise a toast of wine to her memory.

Man Alive - I've got the dvd, but never watched it, I've got the soundtrack - it's a belter.

Hey Dave. Thanks. The soundtracks for a lot of these Jess Franco movies were often better than the movies. The things I loved about the movies were the beautiful women, plus many times the sets.

Hey Mirko. Definitely gone too soon. I'm so glad we've got those movies and soundtracks to remember her by.

This was such a tragic loss. She had a real love affair with the camera during her short life. Sadly missed.

Hey Steve. Thanks for the comments. The camera loved her. She is sorely missed still to this day.

Hey Lollipop. Thanks for the comments. That's so cool about Franco. It would be awesome to get a chance to meet him. I love the soundtrack for Vampyros Lesbos. The music in his films are one of the main highlights for me. I bet that's a really cool t-shirt you've got. Soledad was amazingly beautiful. Such a shame that she died so young. Thanks. I hope you'll stop into my blogs at any time you may like. Always feel free to leave comments.
