Galaxina is a low budget science fiction movie released in 1980. Dorothy Stratten (Playboy's Playmate Of the Year 1980) plays the title character, an android who falls in love with her ship's pilot. Unfortuntely Dorothy's life and career would be cut short because she was tragically murdered in August of 1980.
Here's the trailer for the movie:

Wicked pics Keith! I don't know what I'd do if she pointed that gun at me?
I've never seen this movie. I remember seeing the poster and print ads as a kid, dying to see it but have never gotten around to it as an adult. Thanks for the reminder! I'll have to check it out soon.
That looks entirely my sort of film Keith -
Hey Metalhead. Thanks. Yeah, I'm not sure what I would do either.
Hey K&S. Thanks for the comments. I hope you get a chance to see it. It's been ages since I've seen it. My post got me wanting to check it out again.
Hey Dave. I think you would definitely dig it. Cheers!
I've never seen this movie myself. I've heard of it though. I do know who Dorothy is. I watched the movie about her. Wasn't it Star 80?
Fantastic post of a beautiful lady. What a tragedy.
Somehow I have never seen this one or Flesh Gordon. Shameful, really. :-)
Thanks Phoebe. I hope you get a chance to see this movie. Yeah, the movie about her was Star 80. I saw that growing up. That was my intro to Dorothy.
Thanks PTA. Yeah, it is a shame how things turned out for her. She was quite a beauty.
Hey Darius. I've seen this and Flesh Gordon. Maybe you'll get a chance someday.
I haven't seen this in ages. I was probably to young to even appreciate it when I did. I'd love to see it again.
she was murdered? wow, how sad...
looks like a fun movie
Nice selection of photos. That second pic is my favorite of the bunch!
That is such a tragedy. I can't believe someone would harm such a beauty.
Hey Rev. Thanks for the comments. It's been some time since I've seen it. I can't even remember how years ago it's been.
Thanks Scott. Glad you liked them. I wanted to make sure I showed a good selection of her from this movie.
Thanks Deana. It is so sad that she was murdered. I wish I had known who she was while she was living. It was only after her death that I discovered her.
Thanks Molly. It is a good movie. She didn't do much before her murder.
I have not checked into this film too much though I have always heard of it due to Dorothy Stratten. These stills are great and I will probably try to download this one soon if I can find it and write about it.
Man Keith, I may be going through the phase you went through a few backs back. I am just burned out lately blogging. I am stuck. I know it will pass but I can't seem to get writing lately.
Cool images.
Bill
Hey Bill. I hope you get a chance to check it out. I haven't seen it myself in years. I want to watch it again to see if I still like it. It's definitely a b-movie, but she makes it special.
I've gone through that feeling again recently. I thought about taking some more time off. I know some other people who are taking breaks from their blogs. I say you've got to do what you've got to do. I'll definitely miss you though and I hope you won't be gone for good.
