Sugar Hill is a blaxploitation horror movie released in 1974. The film stars the very beautiful Marki Bey. When gangsters brutally murder her boyfriend, a woman decides to get revenge. She visits a voodoo queen to seek the aid of the Lord of the Dead, who raises a zombie army to do her bidding.
P.S. This blog was honored with the Superior Scribbler Award by Steve at the cool blog The Last Picture Show. I appreciate it very much. Extra Note: I added this in on Wednesday, October 28th. I also received this award from the very sexy blog Nylon Dreams. Thanks so much.
It is my duty to now bestow this award on five other blogs. This is always hard to do because there are so many blogs worthy of this award. Here are the five I have picked:
Don't Stand There Gawping!
I Know, Right?

Absolutely killer poster. Big fan of these types of films.
I've never ever been able to see this one. I always thought it looked really cool though.
Hey Richard. Thanks. I love these kind of movies myself.
Hey Wolf. It's a hard movie to see. Glad I could share this post with you.
I've never seen this one myself. I do like those posters. The clip was nice to see. It's an interesting premise for a movie.
Yay! Thanks for the award, Keith! That is so awesome.
I need to see this movie asap, if it's available somewhere...netflix? Hmmm...
It sounds intriguing.
i have never seen that one but i will have to check it out. I love flicks that have elements of voodoo, but there are far too few nowadays.
Also idk if you have ever seen it, but Tales from the Crypt's "Ritual" is a great film if you aren't expecting too much. There's voodoo and jungle and babes and Jennifer Grey. You can never go wrong with TFTC.
Hey Phoebe. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed this post even though you hadn't seen this movie before.
Hey Jennifer. You are very welcome. I enjoy your blog a lot so it was nice to pass on this award to you. This movie is hard to find.
Hey Mrs. M. Thanks for commenting. I love movies like this. I've always been fascinated by voodoo. There aren't enough movies that deal with it. I do think I saw that one from TFTC. You definitely can't go wrong with that.
Hey keith thanks for the award you're a star. Along similar lines to this post I checked out Halloween episode of Starsky and Hutch, The Vampire.
Have you seen it?
Hey, thanks for this reminder. I planned to look for this one a while back. Someone from your other site sent me the url for this site that sold old movies. Do you have that url?
Thank you, Keith! An award and Sugar Hill? Sweet! Sugar Hill is one of my all time favorite blaxploitation flicks. Not sure why it hasn't got an official DVD release yet--it deserves it.
Happening post for the Halloween season. Dig this flick with it's genre straddling story and super sexy leading lady.
Hey Dave. You are very welcome. You've got a very cool blog. I saw that show back when I was a kid. Haven't seen it since then. I might have seen that episode, but I don't remember.
Hey Max. You are very welcome. I'm not sure if I've got that url or not. I'll have to see. This is one that seems to be hard to find so it's always great to find a site that has it.
Hey Rev. You are very welcome. Your blog is one of my favorites out there. I knew you liked Sugar Hill. This definitely deserves an official DVD release.
Hey Scott. Thanks. Glad you like this one. I love blaxploitation horror. Marki is one hot babe.
Whoa - those outfits are sick! I love the fitted jumpsuits - and it reminds me of Jackie Brown - love it!
XOXO
Hey Midtown. Thanks. Yeah, I know what you mean about the clothing.
Oh my God, I forgot all about Sugar Hill! How can I forget that one!! Thanks for this reminder! :)
Hey Daniela. You are very welcome. Glad I could remind you about this cool flick.
I don't think I've seen Sugar Hill...... I'm a learning tons from your blog here...
Congrats on the award! I have never heard of the award but I am totally digging the afro. Do you collect these kind of posters at home?
Thanks for the award, Keith. I appreciate it. I put a lot of time into the site and try to make it interesting and fun. Thanks for the award, kind words and encouragement.
Looks like my kinda' movie, Keith. Thanks for the heads up about this one. Have a great week!
Hi Keith, thanks for the award! I appreciate it very much! Hope that you have great week with a great Halloween WE!
Hey April Marie. Thanks. I'm glad you are learning some things from my blog.
Hey Deana. Thanks. I wish I had these posters. I've got some cool posters, but not one of these yet.
Hey K&S. You are very welcome. I really enjoy your blog. It's a fun place to stop by. You do a great job with it.
Hey Son. Thanks. I'm glad I could let you know about this flick. Enjoy your week.
Hey Mirko. You are very welcome. I really enjoy your blog. I've learned a lot about Marisa. Enjoy your week. Happy Halloween.
They really don't do movie posters like they used to, do they? Love the storyline of this and Marki looks pretty fierce! Hope you had a fantastic weekend!
Hey Haute. Thanks. They definitely don't do movie posters like this anymore. It is a cool movie. Marki is very hot.
Congrats on your award, you surely deserve it.
have a fab week!
Colin.
Thanks Colin. I appreciate that. Enjoy your week.
hmm interesting. I enjoy old horror movies, theyre not as scary as the new ones that look more realistic, and aren't very creative on how people dies... I don't like the whole gore and torture like "Saw" eeeeek gives me nightmares!
yeah I thought the same thing as you witht he Ashlee simpson being a temp on the show. She did so much promotion for it. Prob because her character isn't very popular. Hah I certainly wouldn't support her acting!
Hey Pop. Thanks for your comment. I love horror movies from the past. Whether they are from the 30's onto the 70's.
Ashlee's acting is a joke. They should never have hired her. That show sounds like it needs a real shot in the arm.
WOW! She looks alot like Pam Grier.
Congrats on your award, well deserved!
Hey JB. Thanks. Glad you liked this post. Cheers!
