Hitting The Streets With Brigitte Bardot

I hope that everybody will have a great weekend. I've been doing a lot of shopping today with Brigitte Bardot. Here's a picture of us out on the street. My face is being blocked in the picture. I'm sure you would rather look at her than me anyway. I know I would. :-)

P.S. Seriously though. I know that the economic crisis has hit people not only here in the United States, but also all around the globe. Quite a few people I know have lost their jobs and are having trouble finding a new one. Some of my online friends have been hit by financial woes too. It really pains me to see so many people I know and care about in such trouble. Watching the news sure doesn't make one feel better. There are so many problems out there and it doesn't often seem like things are getting better.

I work for a cleaning service. It's definitely not a glam or glitzy job at all. It's not really what I want to do with the rest of my life. I'm not passionate about it and I don't enjoy it. A job is a job though. Poor choices in the past got me onto this road. It's been hard to get off of it. My hours and pay both got cut awhile ago. I've been able to get by on what I'm making, but that's all I'm about to do. I'm very thankful to have a job. I count my lucky stars. It would be nice though to make some more money. I want to do more than just get by. Know what I mean.

I've been trying to think of some ways to turn things around. I know that many people are doing the same thing right now. It's definitely not easy on anybody. Any ideas from you guys on ways I could make some extra money whether it be here online or offline? Thanks. I really appreciate it. I didn't really want to bring this up online. I try not to get too personal with my blogs. But I did want to share this with my friends here and see if any of you had any tips. I've been picking my brain like crazy.

How are you guys getting by? Are you making out alright or is the global financial crisis hurting you as well? I hope that everybody here is doing well. I really wish all of you the best. I've rambled on enough about all of this. I hope that you guys didn't mind me mentioning all of this on my blog. I don't want to upset anyone. Any tips you might have that would help me would be well appreciated though. Plus I really want to hear how all of you have been doing. I care about my friends here. Take care. Good luck. I hope all is well with you and yours. Cheers!

Scary stuff isn't it? At work they've cut our hours also and the person I live with lost his job about 6 months ago and is having a terrible time finding something new. Really hard times. I hope things turn around soon. It all seems so dark in the economic sense, but despite it all, I love that people are able to escape and enjoy pretty blogs such as this. It's a nice form of escapism. I'm going to keep an eye on this post to see what advice you receive... think I can use it too :)

Ps. Brigitte is gorgeous! Wish I had her hair... but in brown of course.xo

I have decided to go back to school. I am taking classes to figure out whether or not I want to go to Biology or Psychology grad school. I was doing writing but I wanted to help society more. I don't know what to tell you. At least you are making money. All my friends are unemployed here in NYC.

Hey Gabbi. Yeah, it can be scary. I'm just glad I've got a job. Right now things seem as secure as possible with this job. It's just that I don't get as many hours or as much pay as I need. I'm just thankful to have a job. Sorry to hear about the guy you live with. Good luck to him. I've got family and friends out of work. I count my lucky stars I've got anything. I do hope somebody up here might have some ideas. I'm not looking to get rick quick or anything. Know what I mean. Glad you liked that pic of Bardot. Doing these blogs is a great way to escape from life's problems. That's why I love them so much. Cheers!

Thanks Metal. Good luck to you. I wish you the best. It seems that so many of us are just getting by these days. Have a good weekend.

Hey Carlotta. I'm so sorry to hear that. You are definitely in my prayers. I wish you the best. I hope it works out. There are so many people who have either lost their jobs or are in fear of losing their jobs. I just hope our leaders can get this sorted out and get their people back to work. Take care.

Hey Deana. Good luck with school. My sister just graduated from college. She's got a job (unrelated to what her degree is in - she's been working for this company for years) that pays pretty good. She's going to try to keep working there until she can go to graduate school. I wish you the best. It would be nice to do something that would be a benefit to society.

ya the economy isn't very well right now. I'm lucky that I got a ft job currently! Hmm making money on the side? Well my friends offer to mown other people's lawn for like $10 (depending on lawn size). Uusually older people dont' like to do that. Or painting. People want their house painted for the summer. good luck!

I understand, Keith. I got laid off in August of last year and still haven't found work. It's truly depressing but I did start my blog as a result of being unemployed. I needed something to focus on other than worrying and stressing out about money and employment. Hang in there.

Thanks Gabbi. I appreciate it.

Thanks K&S. I'm so sorry about your situation. I wish you the best with that. I hope you'll be able to find a job soon. One of the reasons I started my blogs was to help me escape from the stress and worry of my daily life.

the pic of BB (with you in the background of course) reminds me of this pic I have of my grandmother with James Garner. It's so similar!
As far as the economic woes, I would suggest trying to optimize your blogspace. you could write the occassional reviews like they offer on blogsvertise or head to linkworth where they pay to put links on your page. i've made a decent amount from that and the today show network.
(https://www.syndigonetworks.com/index.html) other than that you could always try to email specialty online shops and ask if they'd like to partner with you. you have a very focused subject and a key demographic, so i'd really play that up. it took about a year for me to really start making $ off my site, so i definetly feel your frustration. Good luck!!!

I know how you feel Keith ol' buddy....my regular job is only part time, the company limits me to less than thirty hours over two weeks (period between pay checks) so having to pay the bills is always a struggle.

Hang in there, things are bound to get better!

Hey Mrs. M, I'm glad the pic of me and BB reminded you of a pic of your grandmother and James Garner. :-) Thanks for all that great advice. I really appreciate it. I'm definitely going to have to look into that. Right now I've had Google ads on my blogs. I've made a little money from that, but nothing much though. I'll check out those things you recommended. Thanks again. I really mean that. Cheers!

Hey JB. Thanks. I appreciate that. Sorry to hear about your situation. I work 25 hours a week. I would definitely love to get 40 hours even if I'm at the same pay. Good luck. Cheers!

You post a lot of pictures of Brigitte and Claudia Cardinale. Did you ever see the movie they appeared in together, "Frenchy King"?

Keith said...

Hey Carol. Thanks for the comments. I'm a huge fan of both those women. They are two of my favorites from that era. Unfortunately I've never seen that movie.

Pop Champagne speaks the truth (not that I've been able to benefit from doing jobs like she suggested yet). Here in Athens (Ga.) the people I've met do odd jobs to make ends meet - cutting hair, walking dogs, babysitting, etc. K and S's comment sums up what I've been doing for the past year too (unemployed, seeking stable employment, and working on my blog) Overall, it is tough but stay focused.

Hey Dusty. Thanks. I appreciate the comments. I've gotten some good ideas from my friends up here. Doing my blogs definitely helps keep my mind off my problems.
