This movie poster of Sweet Suzy comes from my friend Scott. I think it's a really cool poster. I've never seen this trashy Russ Meyer flick before. I did look it up to find out more about it. The film, also called Black Snake, was released in 1973. I saw it described as Russ Meyer meets Blaxploitation meets the Ilsa movies. The film is centered on the cruel mistress of a colonial slave owning plantation named Lady Susan. She dominates both the black and white men on the island. Lady Susan was played by Anouska Hempel. I'm intrigued now to see what else I can dig up about this movie. Has anybody here seen it? The movie definitely elicits some strong reaction from people, most of it not that good.

David Warbeck has a lead role but I don't much else about it. Never saw this particular Russ Meyer movie, but as one sheets go - it gets my attention. Hope your Tuesday is better all around.

This still stands as one of the only Russ Meyer films that I haven't seen...yet. You're right though, most reviews are pretty harsh. Guess I'll judge for myself one day.

Hey Rev. This is one of the only films of his I haven't seen either. I really didn't see any good reviews about it at all. Oh well. I'd still like to try to see it.

Hmm interesting. Speaking of old movies, have you seen the fly? it was made in the 80's... I wanna see it but I heard it was nasty, and I don't like grostest movies.. So I thought I'd ask you if you've seen it!!

Hey Pop. Thanks. I saw The Fly. There's the original and then there's the remake done in the 80's. I'm old enough that I saw the remake when it came out. I didn't find it gross, but some people might find his transformation yucky. I would recommend it.

wow they dont even offer that movie on Netflix. it must be a difficult one to find! Sadly i dont know anything about the flick or Suzy, but i would venture to say that she is a fan of orange.
Hey Mrs. M, Yeah, I already looked to see if they had this film on Netflix. No luck. I was disappointed in that. They don't have much in the way of Russ Meyer flicks.
This is one I have never been too interested in seeing, probably the bottom of my RM pile.
I have seen some RM movies on DVD from the UK that are region free, but still PAL format. Typically they are double-feature discs too. My cheapo Phillips DVD player worked fine with the PAL, but your mileage may vary.
H-m-m-m, I haven't seen this one yet (Russ Meyers' Sweet Suzy). I'm still trying to get through viewing Russ Meyers' Black Snake. They say third time is the charm, right? I've gotta hunt this one down.
