Did anybody see the movie The Runaways? I saw it not that long ago on DVD. I thought this was a perfect time to post some videos from that movie.

The first one is a short clip of Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett singing I Love Playing With Fire.

P.S. I know it's been awhile since I've blogged. I've been tied up with getting things sorted out for going back to college. I did want to get a new post up here. Thursday & Friday I will go around to your blogs to leave some comments for those you've left on my last couple of posts. I wanted to let you guys know the good news. I took the math placement tests for college this morning. I scored high enough that I can go into Math 80, which is basically Introduction to Algebra. That's the last course right before College Algebra. It's actually the class I was hoping to get into. I'm no math whiz at all. I didn't do great in math years ago. I actually surprised myself that I did as well today as I did. I was nervous that I would end up in more of a remedial math class. I wanted to get into this particular course because it would be a great way to learn more about the subject material before getting into the harder course. That way maybe it might not be as much of a struggle now. Early registration for the next semester is on November 3rd. Classes will start in January. I had wanted to let you guys know. I'm so happy and thrilled. I know I've got a long road ahead of me, but today was a big weight off my chest. Thanks for all your support. I appreciate it.

I'd Love To Get Lost With Evangeline Lilly, Plus I Won An Award

Evangeline Lilly's role as the tough and beautiful Kate Austin recently came to an end with the final episode of Lost. She's been one of the most popular television actresses of this past decade. I totally understand why. I wouldn't mind getting stranded on an island with her. These sexy photos (by Bowen Smith) were featured in Esquire.

1. I've been a big fan of the trashy novels by Jackie Collins since I was a teen back in the 80's.



2. One of my favorite shows back in the 80's was Dynasty. I was so in love with Joan Collins.



3. One of my favorite female singers in the 80's was Sheena Easton. I loved her song Sugar Walls. Embedding was disabled so I put a link to the video.

4. I was a big fan of all the teen moves in the 80's featuring the Brat Pack. St. Elmo's Fire was my favorite of those movies.



5. One of my favorite shows on television today is Gossip Girl. I have a huge crush on Leighton Meester.



6. I love the show Doctor Who. My favorite companion of the Doctor's since the show came back on is Martha Jones (played by Freema Agyeman).



7. I am a big fan of Fefe Dobson. I think she's awesome. She's gorgeous, talented & so cool.



There are way too many blogs that I would love to give this award to. I know there are definitely more than 15. Instead of naming any particular blogs, I'm awarding this to anybody who wants it.

Naomi Campbell Is Fierce & I Like That

When you think of supermodels, Naomi Campbell has to be one of those at the top of your list. Naomi was born on May 22, 1970 in London, England. Her mother is of Afro-Jamaican descent, while her father is of Chinese Jamaican descent. Her father left soon after Naomi's birth. Her mother had traveled throughout Europe with a dance troupe over the years. Naomi began to study ballet as a young girl.

Naomi became a model while still in her teens. She appeared on the cover of Elle when she was only 15. She was the first black model to appear on the covers of many magazines, including Vogue Paris. Naomi has often talked about the racism and discrimination that she has faced over the years in the fashion world. She talks about how it still exists to this day.

She has been on the cover of over 100 magazines. Her career has stretched beyond just the catwalk, print ads, commercials, etc. Naomi has appeared in quite a few music videos, including George Michael's Freedom and Madonna's Erotica. She has also appeared in movies, documentaries & television shows. She has even had a music career as well.

Naomi is still out there, working it to this day. She is still very beautiful and stunning after twenty years in the biz. Naomi's somebody who definitely tells it like it is. She's not afraid to be the woman she is, whether society likes it or not. Naomi does often get herself into quite a bit of trouble. You definitely don't want to get her mad because she might throw her phone at you.

She has helped open many doors for other black models. She deserves a lot of credit for that. Plus Naomi does do a lot of work for charity that often doesn't get recognized. She is quite a striking beauty. There's no denying that at all. Whether you like her or not, I know there are many people who can't stand her, I do hope you will give her the proper credit. She has earned her spot in the history of the fashion industry. Here are some photos of Naomi. I hope you like them.

Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You

The second of the two above photos comes from my friend Bill.

Mariah Carey released her Christmas album called Merry Christmas in 1994. It has gone on to become the best selling holiday album of all time. The most popular song from it is All I Want For Christmas Is You. I do love this song. It's really catchy and puts me in the holiday spirit.

They Just Don't Make Supermodels Like They Once Did

That is a photo from 1990 of Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington & Cindy Crawford. I always loved the supermodels of that era. It's great to see so many of the models of the 1980's/1990's out there again in commercials and print ads.

They just don't make models like this anymore. These girls actually had bodies. Plus they had personalities of their own. So many of the models out there today seem like skinny mindless zombies.

I had a huge crush on so many of them. Did any of you have a favorite supermodel from back then? Mine was Christy Turlington. I plan to start posting more pictures of all of these supermodels and many more in the future.

So Thankful For The Smokin' Hot Leighton Meester

I first saw these pictures on the ultra fab blog Slacker Chic. I couldn't wait until my issue of GQ actually came in the mail. GQ has selected Leighton Meester, one of the stars of Gossip Girl, as their obsession of the year. I can totally see why. I'm obsessed with Leighton myself. She's one of the girls today that I'm totally crushing on. These pictures of her are so incredibly not. I hope you enjoy them too.

I wanted to let you guys know that this will be my last post until Monday, November 30th. I'm taking off for the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States. I want to wish all my fellow Americans a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy the holiday however you celebrate it. I'll be spending time with my family, watching the Macy's Parade & football, eating lots of turkey & other delicious food, etc. I hope that everybody else will have a great week and weekend. Shakira Is A She Wolf

I generally post about the beautiful women of the 1960's and 1970's. There are plenty of women out there today though that I love as well. One of those is the smokin' hot Shakira. The Colombian singer has a new song out called She Wolf. That's a great way to describe her. I think the song has a good beat to it. I really enjoy the video as well. Shakira is looking very sexy in the various outfits, plus I love her dance moves. I hope you'll check it out.

That's one lucky tiger. I don't know who this babe is, but she's definitely smoking hot. Wow! If I had a cool tiger rug like this, I'd love to find her relaxing on it.

I Always Had A Crush On Debbie Harry

One of my first boyhood crushes was on Debbie Harry. I thought she was so sexy and cool, plus she rocked out as the lead singer of Blondie.

Mareva Galanter Brings Back 1960's France

I've only recently discovered Mareva Galanter. She's a French actress and singer. Mareva was born on February 4, 1979 in Papeete, Tahiti. She is a former beauty queen in French Polynesia, winning both the Miss World of Islands and Miss Tahiti beauty contests in 1998. She then went on to win Miss France in 1999. She has been in several movies, including 2006's The Pink Panther. Mareva released an album entitled Ukuyéyé in 2006, which will remind one of the 60's sounds of France Gall. The album and its videos definitely have a retro vibe. The videos actually have a Scopitone feel to them. I think they are ultra-cool. I thought I would post a couple of them here for your enjoyment.
