Dorothy Stratten was Miss August 1979 in Playboy. She was crowned Playmate of the Year in 1980. She also worked for a time as a Playboy Bunny in Los Angeles. Her life and career (acting credits include Galaxina in 1980) were cut way too short by her estranged husband. He murdered her in August of 1980. I really didn't know who Dorothy Stratten was when she was alive. I was not even ten years old when she was killed. I think I first learned about her when Star 80 came out in 1983. Once I discovered what an amazing beauty she had been. I felt so awful that she had not lived longer. I wanted to know all I could about her. She's another one of those that was gone too soon. It's a shame that we didn't get to have her with us longer. I hope you like this picture and tribute video I'm posting of her.

Another sad example of a life cut short. Very nice tribute, putting her in our thoughts once more.
Hey Steve. Thanks for the comments. I know what you mean. There are so many actresses that we lost before it was their time. It's such a shame.
I don't know Dorothy, but that slideshow really captures the mood of the time keith
Hey Dave. Thanks for the comments. She wasn't around very long before she was killed. Glad I could introduce you to her. Cheers!

One of the could have been greats...love her in They all Laughed and of course the photos are just sublime.
Hey Jeremy. Thanks for the comments. I totally agree. She's definitely one of those that I believe could have had a really fantastic career if she had lived.
